SHUTDOWN USING MOB

A. To do this, all you will need is Microsoft Outlook which should come with Microsoft Office, which most people have. This will need to be on the computer wish you wish to shutdown.

So, this is how you do this:

1. First, you need the batch files to perform the Shutdown, Hibernate etc. You can write them down yourselves or can download them from here.

2. Extract them to your C:\ drive so the path to the shutdown batch file is C:\sms_functions\shutdown.bat (Important this is a must the path must be exact) or you can modify the rule once you import it to point to the new destination, it's your call.

3. Open up Microsoft Outlook. Make sure that you have already configured it for your email. Now we will need to make it so that Outlook checks your inbox about every minute (1 minute for testing time can be increased if a delayed shutdown is desired). You can do this by going to Tools: Options.

4. Then click the Mail Setup tab, and afterwards, the Send/Receive button.

5. Make sure that the Schedule an automatic send/receive every... box is checked, and set the number of minutes to 1. Now you may close all of these dialog boxes.

6. Now go to Tools: Rules and Alerts... Next click the options button in the upper right hand corner and press the Import Rules button.

7. Now select the shutdown.rwz file that was found in the zip file named sms_functions that you downloaded.

8. Now, when you send a message from your phone to your e-mail address with the subject smsshutdown%%, your computer will shutdown.

You can also make your own rule, so that you can use your own batch file, and may specify the phrase you want to trigger the action.

Hack To Make Free Calls

STD call rates are reducing in India every day, but still, they are not free. Today I bring you a hack to make free STD calls. I am exploiting a loophole in Rediff’s ad service. You can search for an ad on Rediff local ads and call the advertiser through Rediff. Rediff will call you first and then connect you with the advertiser of that ad. In this hack you basically need to post one ad, with your phone number. After that, every time you have to call a friend, you can search for that ad and pretend to be your friend. you want to call. Rediff will thus, call you as the advertiser and it will call your friend whose number you provided. Confused? Let me explain it step by step.

1) Go to http://localads.rediff.com

2) Click on Post ad (free) button.

3) Fill out the form and enter your Mobile number. Here, you should advertise something which is easier to search

4) Post your ad and and wait for some time. Usually it takes around 40-45 minutes at max.

5) Search your ad and provide your friend’s number as the number to be connected with advertiser of that ad (you).

India threatening to shutdown RIM’s BlackBerry service

Research In Motion’s popular BlackBerry handsets and push email service is now a worldwide phenomenon. China just recently allowed the BlackBerry through its borders, and even India has some 400,000 active BlackBerry users. But, there’s a problem with the push email system used by BlackBerry handsets. They encrypt the email data.

It might seem like more of an added security benefit for BlackBerry users to have their emails encrypted prior to transmission, but the Indian government apparently doesn’t see it that way. They’ve reportedly asked RIM for access to the encryption keys in order to make incoming and outgoing emails legible to government security agencies. The Indian snoops have given RIM until the end of March to comply and open up access to their email encryption algorithms. RIM’s BlackBerry service faces termination if those precious algorithms are not handed over.

In an effort to prevent the BlackBerry service from going black in India, representatives from RIM, other wireless companies in India, and Indian security agencies will be meeting on March 14th to discuss the issue.

For the sake of BlackBerry addicts in India, let’s hope that the Indian government and RIM can come to terms on email security. Otherwise, India might just be the most short-lived BlackBerry market to date.
